Okay, so, yoga. While I like the idea of stretching, bending, balancing, contorting, pretzeling...doing so in the fluorescent lights of an LA Fitness group exercise classroom while the people stretching after their spin class watch you, is not so relaxing and invigorating as I had imagined. Yesterday I went for a 2.5 mile run followed by an hour long yoga class. The class was full, and everyone looked ready to be twisted and tweaked and then relaxed and centered...(Except maybe the teeny lady in the bright yellow tank top and the shortest shorts ever, who's boobs were so big I thought she was going to tip over...I don't think it was possible for her to be centered...but anyway) I kept expecting the lights to dim and the music to soften...but it never happened. I looked around and people had their eyes closed as they took their deep cleansing breaths...Okay, I get being able to concentrate on what you're doing, but can you really tell me this setting is relaxing for anyone?! A guy just walked by the window in spandex shorts and more leg hair than a gorilla. Isn't that soothing? Now let me balance my knees on my elbows and lift up my feet (the crow I think?) without falling over...and while I do that, let me try not to see up the shorts of shorty-short yellow lady who is doing the same thing (and who's boobs I think are actually holding her up!)
While I'm not opposed to trying yoga again (in fact I probably will), I definitely think the Boxing Circuit class we saw going on before the yoga class was more my speed!
haha i like your take on the yoga class! it was interesting to say the least! i kept thinking that lady was going to flash us, those shorts were too short for anything but a substitute for underwear! and i liked her orange tan!
ReplyDeletelet's do that cardio kickbox one sometime, seriously! I wanna see how much it kills me
