double disappointment

Hrmph.

My right shoe gave me a blister...and cut off circulation to my toes. That was a short-term relationship...more like a one night stand! Back to Road Runner this week...

Everything I've read talks about experimenting and paying attention to what you eat before your weekend long runs...that way you know what works with your body and what doesn't and what you should eat on race day. Today I learned what NOT to eat. About 2.5 miles into our 5.6 mile run I felt my tuna sandwich bubbling up in my stomach. I was getting a little light headed and broke into a cold sweat. Ugh. I ended up having to walk the middle .6 miles of the run until my stomach calmed down. I was pretty disappointed on our long run day to have to walk part of it...I haven't walked part of a run at all in the training schedule up until now. I was feeling pretty bad, but I just had to remind myself that 2 months ago I couldn't have even run 5 miles. And I will have plenty more chances to make it the 5.6 we were supposed to go today.

The good news is, my shins feel great! A different type of shoe and my Super Feet seem to be doing me some good! Yay!
