**Notes About My Running Experience

In the spirit of full-disclosure, I have to admit that saying I was NEVER a runner isn't really fair. I started running with our school's track team in 6th grade and continued to do so through my junior year of high school. Through these six years, I was never a distance runner. I was a sprinter and a jumper. My longest distance was the 400m (and the 4x400m relay) and I was never really all that good at it. I enjoyed it though. Practices where we had to run a mile or more in one stretch were almost as painful for me then (when I was in my peak shape) as longer distances are now.

I stopped running my senior year because I somehow developed three different varieties of shin splints...(variety is the spice of life right??) I basically haven't run since. Well...not basically...I haven't run since.
