Well, as of yesterday we are officially signed up for the Seattle Rock ‘n Roll 1/2 Marathon on June 26th. I was really worried as I waited for pay day that it would sell out before we could sign up…now I’m wondering what the heck we’re thinking paying $91 to torture ourselves! Our official 16 week training program starts the 8th (after a week of easy runs to amp us up). Just looking at the training schedule intimidates me. We will be running anywhere from 2 to 11 miles at a time and from 8 to 25 miles a week. If you remember, I was the girl who couldn’t run 2 miles last year! I can’t believe how far I have come, but wow do I have a ways to go! My shins, knees, butt, abs, and mind hurt just thinking about it! On another note, when we get into those 11 mile runs, it is absolutely okay to eat pasta!!!!!!!
Will keep you updated. Getting started and losing the first few pounds was tough, but the real work begins now!
Mmmm... pasta. And I can't find my non-runners guide book. I wonder where I put it!
