Well…Mostly down. We have one more cross training day on Sunday, then the week is down. I’m actually finding that it’s going easier than I expected. I wasn’t too worried about the distances (3, 4, and 4 miles this week), but more about running Monday, bootcamp Tuesday, running Wednesday and running Friday. I thought Wednesday was going to be killer. I actually found that my muscles were looser than usual and the Wednesday run was relatively easy.
I also (THANKS PRISCILLA) have discovered the beauty of PROTEIN!!!!!! Priscilla talked to us a bit at bootcamp about how your muscles tear when you work them hard…and how the nutrients required to rebuild those muscles are proteins. She said if you’re getting overly sore to eat a lot of protein within a half hour of a hard workout. So after bootcamp Ellen, Anna and I ate a big plate of salmon and edamame…how much more protein could we possibly eat? And guess what…on Thursday (when I usually have trouble walking properly), I didn’t feel sore at ALL. I could feel in my abs where they were a bit tight, but everything else felt find! I called Anna and Ellen to confirm since I have changed my patterns with all of the running again this week. Yep, no soreness. Awesome. Can’t wait to test it out again this week. I love you, protein!
