Conversation in the car today with 2 year old, Grace:
G: “Wow that guy is running fast! Why is he running?”
Me: “I don’t know, why do you think?” (My standard response to her many questions of why.)
G: “Maybe his car is lost. And maybe his car is broken. And maybe he has to go somewhere.”
I love that in a 2 year old’s mind the thought of running just to run…for the exercise/sport of it/fitness/accomplishment just doesn’t make sense. There has to be a REASON to run. I’ve said it before. It only makes sense to run if you’re trying to catch a bus or being chased by a bear…or if your car is lost and broken and you have somewhere to go. Love it.
